Pop Culture Connection: I am reading a novel (favorite genre: historical fiction) about the US after the Civil War. The border collie in the book is named, “Fenimore Cooper” or “Fen” for short.

If you are interested in reading, The Last of the Mohicans, please click the link to get a brief synopsis of this classic. It is written at a 9th grade reading level so it is challenging but worth the read. After you read the first chapter start posting comments about the book for extra credit points.

Directions: Each post needs to do one of the following:
1. Apply your knowledge of the French and Indian War, how colonists interacted with Native Americans, how people lived in the 18th century, etc…
2. Ask questions about the novel and/or the time period
3. Answer questions left by students or educators.

This is a great way for EVERYONE to earn extra credit at the beginning of the MP. Enjoy your trip with Hawkeye, Uncas, and Chingachgook!
