  3. I think we should choose the monkey because they are very smart animals. They can climb trees and over come obstacles to avoid their predator or get theirprey (Ms. D note: Strive for Accuracy and check your spelling and punctuation before posting.)

  4. I plan to use the blog to do any homework assignments you tell us to do on there. Also if I don’t know what the homework is I will use the blog to look it up. Lastly if I’m absent I will find what work I missed on the blog. That is how I plan to use the blog this year.

  5. Alyssa and I put a lot of effort into that PSA. Alyssa did more that 1/2 the work. However, I found all the facts. She made the PSA with me next to her in a chair. The link is below so you can watch the final project.

  6. I think our pet should say “hello. This is the conch. A blog where history really matters”
I will use the blog to check what my homework is, as I already have done. I will also use the live binderto help me with class work/homework. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization and punctuation before posting. Don’t forget to post your class period. I like your intro!)

  7. I plan to use the blog to get absent work if I’m not in school. I also plan to use the blog if I forget what Social Studies homework I have. I could go on the blog and look at the homework widget to find the homework.

  8. I can ask questions without interrupting the class. If I leave my homework at school I can see it on the blog. I can see what I did on my Ipad at home.

  9. I plan to use the class blog to get extra credit by posting pop culture connections. Also, I plan to use it to catch up on homework if I’m absent. And I’m going to say what I think the virtual pet should say. I guess the pet should say something like, ” welcome to Ms. D’s eighth grade social studies class.” I hope the virtual pet is a bear. I love bears.

  10. I plan on using the blog a lot this year. I think it was a great idea for Mrs. D to make one (Ms. D note: Thanks! πŸ™‚ ). This could be very helpful to me when i forget a homework assignment and i can go on the website and look for what i forgot. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization before posting)

  11. I’m posting a comment for homework!Mrs. D is this the right place to post the HW comment?

  12. I plan on using this blog many ways. One of the ways is to get absent work so I know what is going on. Another way is going into the binder to see handouts. Lastly i will use it if i just want to see information.

  13. I will utilize the Class Blog in a variety of ways this school year. The class blog can help with SO many things. For instance, if I am absent or miss social studies I can come here for HW that I have missed. Another reason I can use the class blog is for catching up on missed class work and getting more info about the topic we are talking about in school. I can ask questions if I am confused and visit our virtual class pet. I am very excited for Social Studies this year and look forward to using our Class Blog. Ms. D note: I love your enthusiasm! πŸ™‚

  14. If our virtual pet could talk,i think it should sing a song to our blog visitors about what is on the conch. If our animal was singing the visitors would pay more attention to the animal and actually listen to what it has to say. Also i’d love to see a moose or monkey sing! (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization and punctuation before posting. By the way, your response is very creative and humorous! πŸ˜€ )

  15. I will use our class blog in many helpful ways. If I need to catch up on my missed work I can easily use the live binder or the agenda/homework tab. Everything is so easy to use on here. If I lost a paper that I needed to do my homework I can easily click on the tab and there it is! This will be extremely helpful!!
If we had a virtual adopted pet I think it should be a koala. I think it should be a Koala because the are cute and silly but hardworking and determined on the inside. I think they would make a great virtual class pet!!

  16. Dear Mrs.D,
This year I plan to use the blog in many ways. If I didn’t copy down the homework or think I copied it down incorrectly, I will come to our class blog and look it up in the Homework/agenda tab. I will also use this blog when I am absent. I can come on the blog and look up any of the work we did that day and do it on my own. I will also use the blog for the live binder. If I didn’t copy any notes down correctly or didn’t finish copying them down I can go to the live binder and get the notes. Finally, this year I will use the blog to get extra credit. If I have a connection or a comment. I’ll find the post it belongs to and follow all commenting rules. As you can see, there are many ways I plan to use the class blog this year. (Ms. D note: Well done!)

  17. I think our virtual pet should say “welcome to the conch the one place history matters the most”.

I plan to use the blog by sharing interesting facts and all the pop culture connections I find.

I like how there are funny videos and cool slide shows/ power points. I think there should be weekly polls.

Here are a few of the virtual pets it will end up being 🐷 🐻 or🐡

  18. I think that a panda would make a good Virtual pet because it would atract more people to it than just a cat or something. to indroduce people to the website, we could do something like the paperclip on microsoft word where we could click on it and ask it a question. if that is already patoned, then i am all out of ideas. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check spelling, capitalization and punctuation before posting. I am sure you have more ideas. :))

  19. I plan to use the blog this year to catch up on homework, ask questions about work I don’t understand, and to see what work I missed while i was absent. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and refer to, “How to Post a Quality Comment” and resubmit. You have a good start. :))

  20. I can use the class blog for several different things this year. One, if I am absent one day of school then I can look on the blog for any work that I missed so that I won’t be lost the next day in class. Another way I will use the blog is of I forgot to write down my homework in my agenda book that day and I don’t know what the homework is then I can just check the blog to see what I need to do. One last thing I can do is see different things that we are doing that week so I can make sure that I come prepared to class every day. Those are some ways I will use the class blog this year.

  21. I plan to use the class blog to get absent work that I have missed. I will also use it to get homework that I left at school so I can get credit. I will use this blog to post comments and keep up with what we are learning. I will use this blog responsibly. That is how i will use the blog this year (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization and punctuation before posting)

  22. There are many ways that I could see myself using the class blog this year. I plan to use the class blog for days I am absent. This way, I don’t have to come in to social studies and get lots of homework and experience the frustration that comes so easily when coming back to school after being absent. I can hand in my homework on time and have an idea of what we did in class using the live binder. Another way I plan on using the blog is for extra credit. By doing pop culture connections and responding to certain posts, I can earn extra credit towards my grade. Finally, I plan on using the blog to review what we have learned in class as a resource in case I ever forget the things I need to study. These are a few ways I plan on using the class blog as a great social studies resource. Ms. D note: Ashley, Thank you for your detailed response! πŸ™‚

  23. I plan to use the blog to look at any handouts or homework that I forgot the write down in class or that I need to look at anything I need to complete homework. Or I will also use it if I have to study and I don’t have what I need to study. I will also use the blog to re look at videos that we used in class.

  24. I think our blog’s virtual pet should say ” welcome to the Conch the one place where History matters the most”.

I plan to use the blog by sharing interesting facts and all the pop culture connections I find.

I like how there are all the funny videos and the cool power points on the blog. I think there should be weekly polls

Here are a few of the pets I would want our pet to be 🐨 🐷 or 🐡

  25. Dear Class,
In answer to how i plan to use the blog this year….truthfully, I don’t plan to use it a lot. It is out of my way a lot since i don’t have access a computer or internet. I only plan to use it if i lose my homework questions, test material, or information that i can not get from my friends. Also I prefer hard copies of material. I like the idea of the blog but it is not ideal for me. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization and punctuation before posting.)

  26. I plan on actively checking the class blog. I feel that the live binder will be a great help when forgetting assignments. The conch will definitely help me out a lot this year.

  27. I plan to us the blog this year a lot. i will use it if i am absent i will check the folder. Also i can use it as extra credit, which i probably will do. i will also use the blog to get handouts that i lost. the blog will be very helpful to me this year (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization and punctuation before posting.)

  28. To me, a panda would be a good choice as a virtual pet. Although some of my peers may vote a wolf or a moose due to its strength, I believe our class shouldn’t be focused on one aspect of the animal. For example, a habit in mind of ours is strive for accuracy, but its not something that is going to happen consistently. Us humans are bound to make mistakes (Ms. D note: Us is incorrectly used). We need our other HOM to back it up. With that said, I believe putting all of the focus on strength is like forgetting every other habit of mind. Striving for accuracy is important, but it’s nothing without the others. I feel that the panda not only has strength when need be, but can also be quite peaceful. We need a tranquil learning environment. Pandas come off as harmless, calm animals, but once aggravated can bring out a fierce creature. They are also adorable looking animals that are utterly lovable. This, among many other reasons is why I think our virtual pet should be a panda. Ms. D note: Nadeen, You have several arguments and use insight to persuade your audience! Well done! πŸ™‚

  29. I plan to use the class bloc this year in may ways. One way I plan to use it is if I was absent and I needed to catch up some missing work j could just go to the agenda/HW tab and do my missing work. Also I could just go to the live binder and print out the papers that I didn’t get! This is one way I could use the class bloc this year! (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check spelling before posting.)

  30. I plan to use the class blog to review what we’ve learned in class. It would be a great study tool because everything we’ve learned is all online in one place. When I’m at home and I need to study, but I forgot to bring home my folder, I can get everything right here on the class blog.

  31. Dear Mrs. D,
I plan to use the blog to find and get missed homework and assignments. If I lose a paper that I need for class the next day I can go on the blog and print it out. I think the blog is very good. The blog can be useful throughout the whole year. I like that you can see what we did in class each day and get papers from class on it.

  32. I will use the blog to comment and question on posts. (Ms. D note: Nick, Refer to the “How to Write a Quality Comment” checklist and add to your response in order to earn credit.)

  33. History matter because tell us how the world came to the world It is now. Another reason why history matters because it teaches us all the amazing things about our history as Americans. The last reason why its important because it teaches us responsibility (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization, punctuation and spelling before posting. Don’t forget to add your class period.)

  34. History is a matters a lot in the world today. I think that it matters because it tells us what we should do in the future by learning from the past. This is why I think that history matters. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and proofread before posting. Don’t forget to add your class period.)

  35. History is important. It is important because if we forget it, it could and will repeat itself. Finally it is how we learn about the past.

  36. History matters for many reasons. One reason is because you need to learn from the past and history is the past. Another reason is because history is important we need to know what happened a long time ago. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and use your, “How to Post a Quality Comment” checklist – this comment is on the incorrect post. Don’t forget to add your class period.)

  37. What I like about the class blog is that you can interact with other people about what you think about things. It educates others on what they don’t know or want to know. I would not want to add anything to the class blog because I like it’s layout and concept already. (Ms. D note: Follow the Digital Safety Guidelines and use your first name only and don’t forget your class period. I deleted your last name. Let’s keep it safe. :))

  38. I plan to use the class blog a lot. I’d use it mostly for the live binder. It would help me if i forgot a paper. I can see myself using the live binder a lot probably. (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization before posting.)

  39. I plan on using the blog to help me this year in many ways. One way I plan on using the blog is for homework. If I’m not here I will go on the blog to see what work I need to do. Another way I plan on using the blog is if I know I’m going to be absent I can go on the blog to find out what work I have. Than I can hand it in early. My last way I plan on using the blog is when I’m bored. I can go on the blog and find out the agenda, and homework for the week. So then I’m not surprised about what’s going to happen through out the week. This is how I plan on using the blog through out the year.

  40. Dear Mrs D,
I think that our virtual class adopted pet should be a moose. They are strong, just like the students will to succeed but prepared and peaceful, like how everyone should be before a test. When I think of a moose i think of Canada. Canada is a world culure and we should be studing that a while down the road. It would be very wise to have a moose as our adopted virtual class pet.

  41. I will use the class blog to look at my missed work. Also I will look at any handouts I misplaced.

  42. I plan to use the class blog in many ways to help me this year. For example if I forget to write down a homework or don’t understand something in class. It will probably be very helpful because I haven’t had anything like this in a class before, and have always had to text someone for homework. I will also use it if I don’t have time to copy notes since it is last period. That is how I will use the class blog this year.

  43. I think the pet should be a dog because I have one and she is a really good pet. She is trained really well and loves us more than anyone in the world. A dog would represent our class really good because they are strong, smart, and kind. A dog would bond to you the best and that is why I think a dog would be the best class virtual pet.

  44. I think the Virtual pet should be a wolf because a wolf knows how to hunt and defend itself in times of need. Monkeys might have aposable thumbs but they werent trained like wolves to be loyal and aid us humans during war and when we were hunting for food. Wolves are my top choice because i have a dog and wolves and dogs share the same traits and the same skills as dogs. Dogs have keen sences and can help old people when they are ill, they have helped blind people, they have saved lives (Fire rescue dogs, K9 police dogs, ad just sometimes and ordinary dog). They have stay beside us through history and worked with us to improove the lives of not only us but the sick and ill people of today. I hope everyone aggrees with me on this because i feel as if i stated enough evidence to proove Wolves are better than Monkeys! (Ms. D note: Strive for accuracy and check capitalization and punctuation before posting. Thank you for your very detailed comment! :))
